Reliable magazine for model 700

For general hunting purposes how reliable is the factory Remington detachable magazine system? I have never handled one. I am ordering a stock and have to figure out what DM kit I am going to go with so they can inlet the bottom metal Don't want something bulky but would like something reliable. What are my options? I am ordering a McMillan Edge for a 700 LVSF. Thanks.

And is that all worth it or should I just drop a Sako 85 with magazine and factory bottom metal into an edge rather than piece together the Remington?

I'd go with the Remington DM kit. I'd just tell them to inlet for a Factory S/A DM.

McMillan won't inlet ANY stock for a Sako 85 without you sending them the barreled action, which is near impossible for us to do.

Go with a Remington or a Sako 75, if you can find the cal you want. For a cheaper lightweight rig, I'd go with a Mountain LSS in 7mm-08 and put it in an EDGE.
