So I was was doing some load work ups for my new project and started with some 168gn stuff from different manufacturers. It wasn't till I started with the 155gn stuff that I realized a potential issue.
I have a few different manufacturers, but the one bullet that causes me some concern is the Sierra Palma 155. Seems they have a shallow seating depth if I set .002 off the lands.
These are .308 and I have to wonder what is acceptable for depth of seating vs jump.
Any opinions.
Thought I'd get a sad one opinion before I go to the range tomorrow.

I've got a sad one opinion for ya...:D

If I understand you're question, IMsoO you'll have to seat the bullet to an acceptable depth and ignore the jump distance. If you must have a .002 jump, this is obviously not the bullet to use.

Perhaps move your question to the reloading forum.

155 Sierra Palma bullets are very jump tolerant. .002" off,.040" off or even loaded to magazine length they will work. Start with .020" off and work from there.

im thinking you are using a factory gun with a long throat. maynard is right, the sierras are designed to be seating depth tolerant but there are two 155 sierras. the 2155 and the 2156 palma bullet. i would try using the very good palma bullets or even the berger 155.5 bullets.
