has anyone out there got advise on a good load for the .222 rem., I just bought a Remington model 700 ADL ( older rifle ) and need some help...thanks....later .....Joe
There are no shortcuts in reloading. Do your own homework, and develop a load that works well in *your* gun. The 222's not picky to load for, there are a ton of powders that have worked well for others
Yeah, 222s aren't fussy. I've had the best luck with 50 gr or 52/53 gr bullets. If you want to save some money go with Hornady 50 SX bullets and an appropriate powder. There are lots of good powders for the 222.
Anyone reloading 55's?This is what my C.I.L. likes.I had a buddy load me 50,52 and 55's and the 55's were a 3 shot dime size at 100 yds. It's a good load but being new to reloading even I know there's always better until you see just one hole in the paper.
I also had an older M-700 ADL and it liked 52 gr MK's and 25.0 grs of Winchester 748. When I switched the factory barrel to a Gaillard it really took off.
The best bullets for it will be 50 to 55 grain. It has a slow twist, so the heavier bulelts won't work well. It can shoot a 60 hollow point, but the group will be bigger.
