reloaded my first rounds last night

hey guys,

so yesterday i finally got around to setting up my dillon square d for 9mm. its my first try at reloading and i think its a lot of fun to do.

primers: dominion small pistol
projectile: campro 124gr fcp rn
propellant: hodgdon titegroup 3.8gr

loaded my first 50 rounds and im excited to try them out at the range to see how they perform. :)

im currently using an rcbs manual scale but will probably pick up a digital scale this week, either hornady or rcbs or frankford arsenal.

There is nothing like it when you fire off your first reloads and they work well and they can actually be more accurate than store bought...
 
Congrats! It's all downhill from now on! Next you're scrounging the range like a mouse for brass more so than actually shooting. Then you're buying up powder whenever you see 'em... then dies and more shell plates etc. lol

X2 on buying components when you can... I turned into a varget pack rat, buying as much as I can when I can! (on sale that is, Bought 8 pounds last month).
 
Congrats! It's a great machine to use. A little digital scale is really handy for all sorts of reloading stuff. If your shop lighting layout casts shadows right where you place a bullet...a desk light on the left is handy to shine some light so you can verify a powder charge at a glance.
 
Congratulations!

Please pay "attention to the details" and in particular the powder charges as Empty and twice loaded cartridges are probably the two most dangerous mistakes newbies encounter.

Yes! Pay attention. Avoid any and all distractions. TV, music, people. A mistake can have dire consequences. On the plus side, the intense focus required can be very soothing and relaxing.

I sleep real well after a evening of reloading. And even better after a day at the range. This hobby is my stress cure, nothing like blasting paper to smithereens to take away the weeks stress.
 
Also drop one of those rounds into your pistol to make sure that it chambers correctly. 1.15" is long for a CZ Shadow while a Glock will swallow almost any length cartridge. Seating the bullet deeper will increase chamber pressure so don't do this near max loads.

What he said ....squib load can be dangerous if you don't know when you have one, double charge too, nice on a Dillon great machines....nice relaxing hobby I find...have fun

i just checked my Wolf 124gr cartridges and they are around 1.1" COL so i adjusted my die to the same
