Howdy.
one more quick one.
has anybody used re 15 for there whelens, if so how did you go an what were your loads?
preferably on 250gr an also what velocities were youu getting on average.
Now just about everyone has used it. Most use 58grs to 59.5grs behind the 250 of choice for velocity of 2475-2550MV. That's getting close to a max load so work up. I've found the 250 HornadyRN bullet to be a velocity champ often -accurate too usually.
I've made a few remarks on ReL15 you can read if you care to at the top of my loading page in connection to the 35Whelen here - the heading is "On the 35 Whelen (standard chambering) - Reloder 15 Gets It Done!" - http://35cal.com/loading.html#rel15
WhelenLad, I've been using 59.5 grains in my .35 Whelen for well over 1000 rounds. This was the listed maximum on Alliant's site for years. They recently dropped it down by several grains but the powder has not changed.
I've been getting very good accuracy and velocity is running at 2560 fps with 250 grain bullets.
