For cheap and easy Google "12 gauge blackpowder roundball loads"...do the reading and be safe.
You could try Will Bilozir
Check wax slugs on youtube.
I made some and was astonished at how accurate they were.
I bought the cheapest #8 target loads I could find, and made the waxers using paraffin my wife uses for canning.

I've seen wax slugs the only thing that concerns me is I've seen some horror stories online of over pressure and barrels splitting
Yes, there is nothing Buba can't screw up.
I bought the tool that cuts the crimp off the case on the inside of the roll on the edge. That way the wad is still captured and has the correct pre-load compression. The hot lead and molten was is poured in with a teaspoon and cannot pop out because of the roll on the lip of the case.
Some guys make them by cutting the crimp off by cutting the top off the shell, cutting from the side of the case. This removes the roll on the edge and the slug can them migrate.
If you shoot these single shot, not much can go wrong. If a shot does not sound right, check the barrel to make sure the slug is not in the barrel.
I used the Challenger extra light target loads, with 7/8 oz #8 shot. These wax slugs come out at around 1100 fps and are pleasant to shoot and do a 2" group at 25 yards, from a smoothbore with a single bead. I found they load in the magazine of a pump and work fine.
At 25 cents each, these are cheap shooting slugs.
I tried to private message you but your inbox is full.
I was told you have experience with Norc 1911 sights. I bought a NP-29 matt chrome and the sights are also matte crome with white inserts. I would like to replace them with plain black novak style sights but I'm unsure which ones to buy. Do you have any suggestions ?
The rear sight is a standard Colt dovetail. Buy a Colt rear sight. The front dovetail is non standard. It is quite narrow. Buy whatever front sight you want and have gunsmith cute dovetail wider, to give you a standard size or have him mill the new front sight base narrower, to fit the Norc. Given the chrome and how tough the Norc steel is, he might prefer making the new sight narrower.
