Reloading 16 gauge steel

Are wads available for reloading steel in 16 gauge? My son (11) thinks that the 12 gauge is still too heavy and wants to use the 16 on ducks again this year. He used up the last factory steel I had last year and at $26+ a box I am looking for other options. He may have to suck it up and use the 12 anyway as my daughter wants to shoot ducks as well.

Ballistic Products is the only supplier of steel shot wads and data that I know of. The wad is called the Multi metal. It is sold by Will Bilozir in Alberta. Look him up on the net, he distributes ballistic Products stuff. That wad can also be used for heavishot, they are good goose loads in the 16.

You could try Reloading specialties inc. Not shure if they make 16 gauge wads?
