Reloading 16ga shotshells

you can, it would save you a bit of $ compared to factory, try wartners out queen st, not the greatest price but might get you started, once you need more hummasons in ancaster near hamilton has everything. I have also seen some 16 ga stuff sitting around at the gun room in waterloo.

a reloading manual and a press you need to follow data with everything including hull type

hulls your going to have to shoot to make emptys or find some (or order them from the BP dealer here)

Antique guy is right. Unless you can find an old guy with a stash of 16ga components to sell, ballastic products is your best option.
They sell new cheddite hulls and their sg 16 sporting wads or you can get wads from hummanson which are the claybuster CB0100-16 a remake of the original winchester WAA16's for like 21.00 / 500. remington wads are also still out there at many canadian gun shops.
Hulls are the challenge. Canadian tire usually stocks federal shells in 16ga and those hulls will give you 5 or 6 reloads also. Forget trying the new winchester ones.

Welcome to the world of 16 ga guns! They are wonderful when built in a frame size appropriate for the gauge. I have a half dozen or so and use them for a lot of my shooting.

There is a 16 ga "society" online at 16ga.com. There is a forum on that site that includes reload data for all the 16 ga. components that are on the market. A very good resource! I find it easiest to order Ballistic Products stuff ( USA) from Will Bilozir in Alberta. He stocks or can order everything in the Ballistic products catalog. Prices are kinda steep, but it is a specialty market! Be warned that there are no good quality highly reloadable target hulls made for the 16. You can make good loads, but they won't reload as many times as something like the Remington 12 ga STS. I suggest that the single most useful wad for 16 ga target shooting in the Guilandi G/BP16. The cup holds 7/8 oz or so, and it is very useful for light loads in straight walled hulls, which almost all are nowadays. Some wads like the Winchester are a poor fit in straight walled hulls and powder migration is a problem. Fiocchi or Cheddite hulls are also available from Will, and are an easy way to get started. If you are shooting factory loads to get started, Both Federal game load 8's and Remington game load 8's serve as factory target loads in the 16, and the hulls are reasonably reloadable. You should be able to find flats of those shells for about $80.

The more I read here the more I realise I had some dam smart guys helping me along when I was getting into this sport.
Got my 1st 16ga wingmaster in the mid 60's and the boys had me maybe in the late 70's since I was sticking with the 16ga order 5000 blue win AA wads and four flats of the old Win Pheasant and duck loads and dove and quail which as you know back then were AA compression formed.
Almost 40 years later may have a few original boxes left but enough fired 16ga AA hulls to take me to my grave I hope. They sell 1X for 1.50 each now state side when you see them which is not very often.
I was told at the time that the plastic would break down so I kept them in the dark and they are still fine today.
