Reloading .204 ruger

Had good success with 39gr blitz king using 27.2gr IMR8208XBR going average 3661fps. And shoot .3” group.
Also same bullet with 29.2 CFE223 which is .2gr over max book going 3733fps
And same bullet with 28.3gr varget which is also .2 over book max going 3723fps. Didnt keep track of what the groups looked like for the latter 2 loads
Got a 7/16” group with Hornady 45gr SP going 3475fps also 25.7gr IMR8208xbr. Dont have very many of these bullets so didnt play with them much.
My Tikka T3 heavy barrel won’t stabilize the 40gr VMax. I load all of these rounds with the ogive at .020 off the lands
My fav was 32gr vmax going 4100 fps with 28.5gr RL15. Shot many hundreds of these, usually around .5”
If you’re looking for a coyote round, I’d likely choose the 39gr, but let them get out well past 200 yards or they make a huge mess of the hide. I use a 17Rem for coyotes under 250.

I too am getting great groups with 26 gr of Reloder 15 and 32 gr Sierra in my CZ factory barrel, just gave it a try because I have many pounds of R15 powder....FS

Late to the party on this one, but I've always had the best luck with 8208. Sold off the last of my Berger 35's and picked up some more 39 BK's, just easier to find (although about equally accurate at 100 yards). I was loading W748 for 45 Hornady's when they were around, and those were wonderfully accurate. I'd like to try Speer TnT's one day for a cheaper varmint option

My Tikka HB varmint just loves the 40g VMax and I just love Varget…for darn near everything…sooo forgiving….
