Reloading .243 Winchester

Another vote for IMR 4350 but for the lighter pills IMR 4064 is a good choice also ......if the rifle likes it.
As others have mentioned do not go too light in the bullet for long range you need good BC's for long range.

I always comment to the "Lead Sleders" . . . those things must be pretty heavy to pack around while hunting!
"Oh I don't use it for hunting".
So how does the point of impact change when shot from the shoulder?
No one f'en clue.
One day a member was shooting at 100 meters from a sled. Brought his target back and not one hole on the paper (14" x 14"). So what are you going to do now? Come back another day . . . I guess!
On course now I am waiting for someone to break or crack their stock while using one . . . you guys have given me incentive!

I have recently tried Superformance and 75 gr hollowpoints with good success.
Other than that 760 has been a go to powder and lighter bullets. I have tried Varget and not been happy at all.
I currently load for 3, 243's and it amazes me how they like different bullets and loads.
One of my 243's digests nothing but Sierra 85gr HP's and IMR4350 and it has for more than 25 years.
I don't have the experience that Bruce has but I have been loading for the 243 since 1979.
