Hey guys.
I’ve got some of these projectiles and I started reloading them for my 270, just to see how they perform accuracy wise, and as a potential yote round. Hornady part number is 22721
I know they’re are better calibre than 270 for coyotes, but it’s what i got.
There is a cannelure on these projectiles. I’m seating the bullets for a COL for 3.165” as per the Hornady reloading instructions.
The brass had been trimmed to 2.53” approx using a Lee trimmer. Powder is 53gr of H4350.
However when I seat to 3.165” it’s nowhere near the cannelure. I would need to seat substantially deeper to get to the cannelure, but I have no intention of crimping.
Has anybody any ideas if I’m doing something wrong? It just seems like you can’t seat on the cannelure and maintain the specified COL.
