Reloading 300wsm - bullet choice?

With my 26 Inch heavy barrel, I can push 200 Gr Accubonds at 2900 Fps. This is more than sufficient for moose and elk. And the recoil is not so bad that I can put in quite a bit of range time to get comfortable before I go to the field.

Something heavier like a 338 I just wouldn't be able to shoot as often, and would be less confident of the shot, not more.

Im plenty confident shooting my 338. I spend a lot of of time at the range and Im confortable with all of my rifles. If I'm not confident shooting it, I wouldnt take it out hunting.

Depending on what type of hunting i'm doing, i'll take a different gun with.

I know that a 180gr. bullet out of a 300wsm wont do anything that a 160gr. bullet out of my 7mm Ultra Mag already does.

Just another option and tool to play with.
 
I'm quite envious of your options. At this stage of my life, I pretty much had to pick one long gun to live off of for a few years until I can expand the collection. It was a several month process just trying to decided which calibre to go with...
 
150gr TTSX with RL17. Good accuracy (1MOA), lite recoil (compared with 180gr.), and excellent terminal performance on md/wt.deer, b.bear, elk and moose.
 
I've used Barnes TTSX 168gr. Win.760(powder)64.8gr
excellent accuracy and even better effect on moose on 200+meters
damage was minimal.
I think it is a great bullet and what is even better,buddy of mine use winchester model 70 and i use sako 75 we have almost if not same groups.
it is also very consistent load no flyers.
