Looking to get info on reloading some nice accurate Match and Hunting loads in .308 for a Stag 10. I've done lots of loading for bolt action rifles so I know what I'm doing in that regard. However I'm sure with a gas operated mag fed semi auto there are different considerations for the reloading process, ie: bullet weight, powder selection, obviously OAL.

Check out Johnny's Reloading bench on Youtube. He has some good information on reloading for gas guns, specifically 308. I would try to replicate the Federal Gold Medal 175 SMK to start.

Need to bump back shoulder 4 thousands or more more proper reliability in gas guns.

I've done two load developments for my Stag10 with the factory 18.75 308 barrel.

I wont publish my exact receipe, but I use the following

168smk
Winchester large rifle primers
Varget 41-43 range
2.800 OAL
IVI Case

If you use commercial cases you can up the charge a bit, but for military style (IVI, Privi par, Lake city) cut the grains by about 2.

The stag10 has a touchy gas system so small amounts will change alot. Make sure you keep an eye on ejection patterns, they should be around 2-3 o'clock.

Watch for extraction and ejector marks.

Good luck, and start low.

Use small based dies to get your handloads to chamber properly. I bought a set of Redding dies and never had issues since.
