I was just doing a bit of research, and noted that this caliber is not recommended for reloads particularly when fired from a Glock. Has anyone got any experience with reloading 40 cal?
 
I shoot 40 cal reloads out of my glock never had a problem.
some people had some problems shooting reloads out of there glocks
 
More bunk..Reloads are just fine if u follow procedures and load within spec. I have countless thousands down the pipe in the last 15yrs+/- that I have had a 40cal Glock. Only problems were self induced. Same with my other 40's.Try and find a manufacturer that states use of reloads is fine with them. You wont.. Its all a liability issue.

A lot of this " urban myth " came from the fact that Glock does not have standard rifling in their barrels & prefer copper jackets to get a proper twist. Yet many people shoot lead in Glocks with no problems.
Also Glock, like other companies, state that they will not warranty their guns if reloads are used, only commercial. ( Standard disclaimer )

Go ahead & use your reloads. As long as they are made properly, they will be fine.
 
I've loaded thousands and thousands of .40 everything from light to heavy loads in at least 7 different brands of guns and have yet to have a problem.

Stick to the reloading manual, work your loads up slowly and go shoot.
 
Load for economy and your brass will last for a long time. I find .40cal easier to reload than 9mm as the case is straighter and the bullets are slightly bigger, cost of reloads is slightly higher than reloading 9mm. I use 4.4grs of titegroup behind a 170gr cast SWC and was getting around 868 FPS.
 
No issue after about 2000 down the pipe so far this year.

My Glock 22 is liking both 3grains (700fps) and 4.5grains (1000fps) of Titegroup behind a 180 Frontier TMJ.

Have yet to see the dreaded buldge.

Note: Usual reloading caveats apply.
 
If your sizing die is properly adjusted, there should be no issue reloading 40's from Glocks or any other pistol. On severely bulged cases you may lose a couple of loads per case - big deal

Keep your reloads in the midrange. Don't load to the maximums, otherwise the unsupported chamber of the glock 40 will allow a case rupture. If you want to go maximum, you can get an aftermarket barrel for the glock that will handle max loads.

Sounds like good advice to me. Reloading .40S&W from a Glock at near-max pressures becomes a bit of a crap shoot -- if there's a bulge, and if that bulge just happens to line up with the unsupported section of the chamber again, and if the pressures are high enough -- KB is distinctly possible.
 
I found a Lee sizing die will iron out the infamous Glock bulge for you. The Dillon dies won't go down far enough on the case.

2.8 gr of Titegroup under Lyamn's 180 gr cast bullet is very soft shooting and makes PF for IDPA and IPSC PRoduction.
