Hi guys

I use a Uberti 1873 rifle ith a 30" barrell in 45 long colt. Used to shoot the same ammo I reload for my Schofield or Remington or SAA in 45 Long Colt.
My reloads suit me for my handguns shotting but I find the reload is not appropriate for the rifle shooting.
Here is what I use:
  • Lead bullett 200 grs
  • Vithavuori N320 powder with 7.8 grs

OR

  • Jacket bullett 250 grs
  • Vihtavuori N320 powder with 7.5 grs

With both combinations the recoil is almost inexistant and the noise is more like a cork "pop' , so there's no great feellings.

As other powders I have also Trailboss ( for CAS like reload, and smotth reload for my 1892 revolver in 8mm lebel), Unique and Bullseye.

According to your experience, do you recommend another powder measure of Vihtavuori ? one of my other powders ? Another powder more appropriate for rifles ?

I need to say I don't shoot CAS, I shoot at 50 and 100 yards distance with my 1873.

Thanks for your advices.

Cheers.

If you are getting keyholing of bullets on target they are going too slow
Out of the rifle I would shoot the jacketed bullets you will get less fouling of lead
