Hi all,Need a patient mentor to help me reload 455 Webley.I have a Mk1** Webley that has a Mk5 Cylinder and Mk 4 Barrel hence the **,I have just acquired a reloading set and some brass,Im looking for a suitable bullet mold. All I have ATM is a .452 ACP mold which I dont think will work. What powder am I looking for?I have never reloaded center fire ammo.I have some casting experience but not much.Ideally I would like to load a proper hollow base webley bullet to same specs as 455 fiocchi.Any help would be appreciated, thanks Dave

Measure your cylinder mouths and order a mold and sizer to match. M&P molds in Slovenia makes a close copy of the type of hollow base bullet used in the Mk. II round (what Fiocchi tries to replicate). You can order them in .457 and .455 then size to your gun. I’ve used Unique and fffg black powder with good results.

I use 255 gr cast with 5 grs of Unique with a firm crimp. I have also used 3f Goex which worked as long as I was using SPG lube.

I use that same load with my my cartridges for my Webly MkIII and RIC and it works very well for the hollow base bullets, as long as they are softer than #2 Alloy.

Bullet hardness is critical in these old revolvers to get decent accuracy

My best bullets are powder coated, 95% pure lead mixed with 5% wheel weights. Pure lead is OK, but even powder coated I tend to get a bit of lead fouling in a close to excellent bore.
