With all due repect Bob, but saskcop has it down. You should always load for your particular firearm. Some 1911's have a very sharp feedramp and if you do not properly crimp your loads bullet setback is a veey real possibility. Pressure can spile suddenly and you can go from safe to extremely dangerous fast. Always crimp just enough to ensure bullet setback is not happening with your gun. As an excample my 1911 in 9mm needs a full turn of my Lee FCD to ensure that does not happen. With my Smith and Wesson 4506 with it's generously ramped barrel I need only the slightest crimp more to remove te slight belling than anything to feed properly. Be safe and always load for YOUR gun. Take everyone advice (even mine) with a grain of salt.
