With Winclean getting quite popular these days, there's plenty of free brass available, even in .45ACP. However, many reloaders, including myself, absolutely HATE that .45ACP brass for because Olin had the 'bright' idea of putting a small primer instead of a large. This is the cause of many headaches, because if such a case gets through the inspection and gets mixed with regular primed brass, you'll probably end-up with a wasted primer, or a primer blowout because, as obvious as it seems, large primers won't fit a small primer hole.
However, using this brass exclusively is quite interesting because I wouldn't have to switch primer systems all the time on my Dillon 650 when I want to switch from .45 to .223 or 9mm.
Now that makes me wonder : Will a small primer be able to ignite reliably ANY kind of pistol powder in a .45ACP casing (I'm using slow-burning Longshot powder in my .45ACP load), or am I going to have misfires, slow-fires, or even a detonation?
Also, is this brass the same quality than regular Winchester brass, or it is a cheaper batch made for single-use?
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
