Hello fellow reloaders,

I have started loading some 500 mag loads with H110 topped with either a 700Gr hard cast or a 350Gr lead with copper jacket, now online there is alot of data for the 350gr loads so I started with just over the min load of 34 gr and loaded to 34.5 gr. The 700 gr I found a reloading site that had tonnes of info on this round but have seemed to miss place it but I have no issuse with my loads of 23 gr with the 700gr. The 350 gr light load I had a few that left unbured powder (yellow color) between the case and the cylinder of the gun but the case had no weird pressure signs but were a pain to extract but my ones with more powder had no issues at all. Any of you guys have any tips or ideas why this would occur? I was thinking i need to use Large Rifle Magnum primers but i cannot find any localy so they were loading with normal LR primers.

Any load data/helpful tips would be greatly appreciated

H110 is rather finicky, as it tends to require large magnum rifle primers and a good roll crimp to get reliable ignition.

It also seems to do better with full house loads -- I'm wondering if your 34.5 gr load is a bit on the light side, as Hodgdon load data for a 350 gr XTP shows a min of 39.0 gr and max of 43.0 gr.

EDIT: Lyman 50th shows 32.6 gr min 36.3 gr max for a 350 gr. JHP, so maybe you're somewhere in the middle. I'd probably try finding some LRM primers.

I use only magnum primers fed215 are hot.
40 gr of H110 was my sweet spot
700 gr are a hoot to shoot, h110 is fast for those heavey bullets, but will work .. I didnt go past 26gr. 25 is accurate in my rifle..
CFE.BLK was the ticket for the 700gr bullets.
34gr gaves me 1350 fps
The manufacturer,
bullet barn bullets came coated also , with a gas check.. the gas check is hard to load, wrinkles my cases..

I tried with and without a gas check,, there was no difference in speed threw my ladder test..
I ended up loading without the gas check, easier on my brass..
Have fun with your boom stick.

Work your loads up
Use a crono , and measure your C.H.E. and watch those primers also when doing your ladder test.. the 500 is fun
