Reloading 9mm for target shooting

greentips

Hornady lists 4,7 gr if 231 under 115 gr FMJ at 1100fps. (Work this load up carefully). Not to wimpy if you ask me, That said paper targets I shoot really have never indicated to me they notice any difference in the velocity the bullet is going when it passes through the paper. Personally I prefer 124/125 gr bullets for the 9MM and accurate loads over high velocity loadings. I have found maximum velocity and accuracy seldom go hand in hand.

I use Titegroup in my .40cal, .45acp and .45LC but not in the 9MM. Seems to me it is a powder better suited for heavier bullets in larger cases. Probably why you haven't found any loadings for it for the 115 gr bullet.

Im currently using win231, I would like it a little cleaner so maybe I'll give titegroup a try. Id like to try HS6 but wss seems perm out of stock of it here in Kamloops.

Universal was the dirtiest powder Ive ever used, one step down from black powder.

But I can't find any reload data for 115gr CMJ (copper platted) with titegroup. Can anyone tell me what they use?

I have used the Frontier copper platted 115g with Titetgroup, I just load them starting on the low side for jacketed bullets.
For the lee manual thats 4.5 min to 4.8 max
