I recently picked up a 92 Stainless 16" in 454 Casull. Have been after than gun for a long time but could never find one. I picked up some factory Hornady ammunition to have on hand (240gr XTP @1900fps) but will also reload for the gun.

From what I have read it sounds like H110 works well. What powder are you using? Would be great to hear what kind of velocity you are getting.

On to bullets... I see Hornady has a variety of offerings including

240gr XTP
300gr XTP
240gr XTP mag
250gr FTX

Do you need the "mag" version for hot Casull loads? Any hunting reports/experience with these bullets

I've been reloading .357, .44, and .460 with H110 and find it works extremely well. It is a powder that likes to be loaded on the warm side. My .460's came out hotter than factory and I thought I had loaded them down a touch, a very satisfying boom, along with usual flames and concussion from my .460xvr revolver. I assume it would work well in your rifle as well.

Also, I use the XTP Mag for my .460, assume the .454 would be best with that as well. Found some at Bass Pro in Tssawwassen.

Thanks for the input on H110 Chas. Managed to find some 300gr XTP mag bullets for a good price just now. Looks like H110 will run those at least 1750fps. The 460 revolver is a beaut
