Reloading Ballistics Program for the computer?

Anyone using a nice Reloading Ballistics Program for the computer?

was wondering what is out there if anything?

Since you also shoot 22 long rifle, the Sierra Infinity Suite 6 has a feature that permits ballistics out to whatever range.

For example, a CCI MiniMags RN with a velocity of 1235, sighted in at 100 yards will be 33.05 inches low at 200 and at maximum trajectory about 3" high at 60.
It is not just for Sierra bullets, but many manufactures are listed complete with BC, etc. In the manufacturers section most of the makers are listed as well as rimfire.
That said, for the CCI MiniMags when run over a Chrony, the RN listed at 1235 produced 1200 and the HP listed at 1260 were at 1300. Those figures can also be entered into your personal information which will produce a new ballistic chart. Using the 1200 fps value, the bullet is now 34.22 inches low. Similarly, the HP at 1300 fps is 31.46" low at 200.
Excuse me for using the values shown but it is useful when cranking in 17 minutes not that it matters when the HP's were producing 6" groups at 100.

Just remember that you need a chronograph to adjust the burn rate in Quickload to get accurate pressure and velocity data for each firearm you have.

It is impossible for any computer software program to give you accurate data without tweaking the software.

That being said Quickload will give a lot of other good information "BUT" also remember reloading manuals vary in pressure and velocity readings.

Firearms and reloading components all vary and this is why the manuals all have different data and why Quickload must be tweaked to match actual chronograph readings.

I just shake my head when people ask for Quickload information in reloading forums, just for starters you need accurate case capacity. Example on .223/5.56 cases the differences in capacity can change chamber pressure 6,000 psi and you still need a chronograph to adjust the burn rate to match your chronograph.

Quickload is good software to have, but it must be adjusted to give accurate pressure and velocity readings. Meaning you must have a chronograph to get the best out of this computer software.
