Reloading bibles

If you are planning to get into handguns and might shoot cast bullets too I would recommend the Lyman manual as it covers jacketed and cast loads, the 49th edition just came out this year. Other than that it is always good to have the manual from the manufacturer of the bullets you will be shooting as their loads were developed with their bullets.

The lyman current (49th) reloading manual is good start and it has some reloading data for a wider array of bullets not just one make.

Even if you go with the 48th or 47th you will be fine.

I agree--> Lyman & I would also suggest the Hornady two book set, one for ballistics & the other gives complete data for the most common bullet on the market, Hornadys :)

Reloading manuals by all major bullet manufactureres, rating Lapua and Sierra first for bullets and VihtaVuori first for powders, as well as specialty books such as ABC's of reloading, which was my first in 1977, NRA handloading manual, Pet Loads, many others.

As you advance and if longrange is your ineterst, read the Precison Shooting offerings.

Peter

If you need a ton of loads, I found Modern Reloading to meet my needs. Includes both a variety of bullet types and a variety of powders, hard to find in a manual written by either a bullet or a powder vendor. The Nosler one is pretty, but neglects anything that Nosler doesn't make a bullet for, and is full of fluff as well. Great for casual reading, terrible as a reference.

Nosler 6

I quite like the new Nosler 6 manual, but then again I like to load Nosler ballistic tips in many of my varmint caliber rifles. Their Accubond bullets are gathering a lot of good reviews from the many folks that load and shoot them. There is good information in all loading manuals, esp. if you are a beginner. FS

I spoke with a couple of boys who returned from Africa. They rave about the accubonds so Ill give them a try. I
I quite like the new Nosler have noticed that many bullets claim to have a technical advantage but Im not sure what is valid and what isnt.v6 manual, but then again I like to load Nosler ballistic tips in many of my varmint caliber rifles.
