Hey guys, I'm having an ungodly amount of trouble understanding how to measure OAL and how to use a comparator. I'm not stupid or any thing I'm just having trouble wrapping my head around it. I've seen videos and read articles but I just don't follow. If some one could try and help me figure it out that would be awesome. Thanks in advance guys!

The OAL is the length is a measurement from the bottom of the brass to the tip of the bullet. To measure the OAL to the ogive (where the bullet first touches the lands) place the comarator on the caliper. Close the caliper on the comparator and zero the caliper. Place the tip of the bullet in the comparator and measure to the base of the brass. That is it!

Might help to think of it this way:
Over-All Length is only relevant to magazine dimensions, in a single-feed application it means nothing.
The measurement to the ogive is relevant to how far, or close, the bullet is to engaging the lands in the barrel.
