I was wondering if anyone reloaded VMAX or SXSP bullets? 55 gr.

I am using Varget, and WIN WSR primers. This is my first test run

on these Super Explosive Spire Point bullets, so will load to minimum

charge weight ( Does anyone have any experience with these frangibles?

They should be travelling at a muzzle velocity of 3384 fps. and i dont want them to fall apart on me.)

TIA

Taken from a customers feedback on the Hornady site

"I shoot a 40gr. V-max out of my .220 Swift using 44gr. of H-380. I consistently shoot under the .3's with velocity at 4120 fps. It has been by far my favorite varmint load. There is nothing left after shooting prairie dogs and never an exit hole on coyotes"

I don't think you have to worry about them coming apart.

I use 53gr vmax in my 223. I have had 27.5gr of varget pushing them but accuracy wasnt as good as with 25.7gr of varget so thats what I run. They fly at about 3050 fps

I load both those bullets for my 22-250. The 55gr SPSX is my choice for coyotes in the 250. I have them loaded to +3500 fps so you should have no problems in your 223.

Perfect! I loaded 26.4 gr in 55 gr vmax as well as same powder in Spire Points. was worried about too much powder.
