I'm looking for some help/suggestions on reloading dies for my Marlin's in 30-30 & 45-70. I've looked and found sets with 2, 3 and 4 dies . Would anyone have a product code/number for the correct set of RCBS or Lee dies to use with the 45-70 & 33-30.

Thanks in advance!

Any brand will work.

If you are loading cast lead bullets (a great plinker option in the 45/70) you need a mouth flaring die. otherwise and 2 die set will work.

The decapper pin design of a Lee die is almost indestructible.

I don't think any of the die makers sell a 2 die 45-70 set. All are 3 die sets afaik.

45-70 is one of the great cast bullet cartridges, you can shoot cast at full power and don't need to download.

Just remember that the 30-30 and 45-70 are lower pressure cartridges and your primers "will" back out of the primer pockets when fired.

Meaning the chamber pressure is not high enough to push the case against the bolt face.

uuummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm nope. Even 17gr of Trailboss keep's the primer's seated

Ive gone as low as 4gr in 30-30 and 8 gr of trail boss in 45/70. haven't seen a primer back out yet. Id go with lee die sets to get the factory crimp die. I usually buy whatever dies I can get a deal on in the ee.
