Reloading: Do you Stand or Sit?

Thanks for the replies. I set it up with the strong mount so I will be standing, for now.

Both sit and stand. I built reloading table higher than normal so it is at a comfortable height when standing.

I sit on an adjustable drafting chair which is higher than a normal chair. I end up at the same height whether sitting or standing. The table has an overhang so my legs go under it when sitting.

I sit and also use an adjustable lab-type chair. I've never had to stand to do any kind of rifle to date, even forming wildcat's. Whatever you do, just make sure you are comfortable as mentioned, and positioned so that you can see everything properly, including powder level.

Do you suck them very slowly, or crunch them very fast?

With my job in retail, I'm on my feet all day and after 25 years, I sit whenever I get the chance. I have an office desk as well, and an old office chair on casters, with arms.

sit or stand

Depends on the reloading operation.

For lubing/sizing, I sit. The bench is at that height. Same for case prepping - the RCBS machine is on the same bench.

Two Dillons and a single stage press are mounted on the bench design from the US reloading association plans. I first made it high to prevent my young son from fiddling. This necessitated sitting on a high stool, which I did not like.
When he got older, I lopped several inches off the legs and now stand. An old hand once told me - "When you're too tired to stand to reload, you're too tired to reload." This assumes no physical infirmity, of course.

I find that he was right. My concentration suffers when fatique sets in. The first time I make an error, fumble a case, spill, powder, etc., it's time for a break. Reloading is a 'heads up' job.

I stand.

My Lee is mounted high on a Canadian Tire workbench. I want to peer into every case before the bullet is mounted. I have a quartz high powered lamp mounted just for that. It slows down my loading, but it's easier than hammer-and-doweling a bullet from a barrel. A squib round is a naughty little thing.

Well ,if anybody gives a rat`s a$$ ,I`m in the process of building a reloading bench/table.It will be 30" to the finished top/height(double 3/4 birch plywood lam. glued + screwed table top) 48" wide and 30" front to back. The legs will all be doubled up 2x4 (3x3finished) and trussed /spaned accordingly
NOTE: any and all errors in spelling + grammer, along with run on sentences will be and are the end product (along with urination, salivation, constant blinking..the need for witty conversation with the neighbours cat and what not)will be forwarded to the odd bottle of Merlot and Shiraz.(recieved a PM about a SP mistake some time age......WOW.....)
At any rate, this seems to be a comfortable height for myself to reload while sitting.
Any tips (even those from the Opimium Society) on setup are always welcome.

I use a swivel drafting stool with a back and lots of adjustment for height, back rest, resistance, etc. I sit for both rifle & shotgun.
Presses are mounted on individual monster benches, (on each side of the "reloading area") and are lag-bolted to both the floor & the walls.
Nothing moves or wiggles. 38" floor to work surface.
