Awaiting my new rifle, i will start reloading 77 gr Scenar and Hornady 75 gr Match, this is a very fast twist never had one that fast, since i dont know the mag inside lenght, will prepare some with the max OAL suggested in the book... JP.:)

What rifle?

Standard magazine length is 2.260". That will fit in an AR-15 magazine.

Some bolt action .223 rifles will allow you to use a COAL much longer than that.

There are two different 75 grain Hornady bullets, the "75 BTHP" and the "75 Amax". The 75 BTHP will work better if you are trying to load to magazine length.

With a 1-7" twist, you are able to use heavier bullets - any of the 80 and 90 grain .223 match bullets in fact.

I loaded 77gr lapuas in my tikka and they don't fit in the mag. OAL was 2.360. They shot good though. If you seat them to 2.260 there is going to be an awful lot of bullet inside the case. I was using 25gr of varget and it was already compressed. Plus its probably going to be a really long jump to the lands. Those lapuas have a really gradual ogive.
