seeng that im close to get my first sks,i will need some ammo for it:)
well i read over and over again to just buy this ammo...as its cheap and not worth reloading for..
but im getting to be an old fart..
so i need to pass the time instead of gas:p..
so who reloads for 7.62x39,and what works for you?

i have dabbled with rel 7 and 125grn bullets. it seems to be the best combo. i've tried 150 grn but the lighter seems better. .i shoot a ruger mini 30 and don't like the corrosive stuff. try the lee die set with the factory crimp die. i prefer norinco ammo when its avalable, its as cheap as loading and a whole lot easier.

I just started reloading this caliber. Hornady 123gr FMJ and 30 grains of BL-C2 seem to act like a service load. I want to try some other powders in it though. H335 or WC-735 mainly.

Since I'm about to start casting my own bullets, I will be trying the Lee 312-155-2R bullet with 16- 18 grains of IMR4227.

Hi

With any auto loader, (SKS included) use full length dies. If you can find a set of small base dies, grab them.

I like the SKS, I think they are a fun rifle to shoot. They can be very tough on brass. Watch your brass carefully, a case head separation can really ruin your day.
