reloading for a norinco m213 in 9mm

I have a Norinco M213 in 9mm. I have worked up a load that cycles reliably and is reasonabley accurate. The load consists of Win. brass, Fed. primers, Frontier 124gr plated bullets, and 4.0gr of Bullseye. Because my Norinco has a short throat, bullets are seated with a COL of 1.065". This is quite a bit below what most manuals list as a min COL.

I have a couple of concerns with this load and am looking for opinions. First concern is with primer appearance. Primers are flattened out pretty good but similar to some Winchester factory loads fired through this gun. The case head also has some imprints of tooling marks from the slide. My second concern is the amount of black soot left on the outside of fired cases. The flattend primers suggest high pressure but the soot left on the cases would suggest not enough pressure to seal the chamber.

Is my load to hot? Does anyone have suggestions or advice? I plan on firing this load over a chrony soon. This may shed some light on the situation.

Fed primers are softer than others and will flatten at lower pressure. I'd recommend you to run your ammo thru chrono to see where you are at.
A buddy of mine shot my reloads with Frontier bullets thru same gun as yours, Fed primers and Universal or 700-X powder, all spent cases had soot on outside, I think gun's chamber is leaking gas back around the case. Polishing chamber may help some, just don't bore it out.
Try slower powder as well, may help to keep pressure in check; watch for compressing powder loads at that OAL.
OAL seems about right, I loaded those Frontiers at 1.085" for my gun.
