Any tips for reloading for a semi auto in 300 win mag.

I don't know if there is a difference with close to max loads because of the action.

I have only reloaded for lever and bolt.

I am thinking about the cycling of shells?

Thanks

If you have re-loaded for lever and bolt action, then nothing to add that you likely don't already know .. start off below the max, and work your way up. See what works the best and go with that. If you experiance cycling problems, make a note of what you were shooting and adjust, then try again.

Most people I know who load for Semi's use small base dies. This helps make sure that the shells chamber smoothly and completely. The other caveat for semi users is to be extremely diligent about cleaning out the chamber of your rifle. I have a friend who is a gunsmith and does several chambers or barrels a year because people do not clean out the solvents and crud left in the chamber after cleaning. This causes the chamber to rust and pit and then the shells get hung up and will not eject reliably.

Been reloading and shooting 7mm BAR for over 30 years the same way as I do my bolts action with out a problem or jam. Just keep the semi clean including the action.

The only difference between loading for a semi-auto and anything else is that you must full length resize every time. Small base dies aren't absolutely necessary though. A regular full length sizer die will do.
