I am reloading for FTR competition out to a 1000yrds and looking to upgrade my dies from RCBS and looking for ideas on what to buy, looking for FL, neck and seating dies

I would recommend the redding bushing die set.

It's not a set, but what about a redding body die, lee collet for neck and micrometer seater of your choice?

I love the competition redding set with body die micro neck bushing and micro seater ( prefer the redding seater over the forster)

I just ordered a Forster comp seating die instead of a Redding (because I could find the Forster, whereas the Redding wasn't so easy to find) and have read that the Forster keeps run out to a minimum, more so than the Redding...or am I mistaken?

check out the competition shell holder set really nice to have with the body die to keep your shoulder bump @minimum and not overwork your brass

Just curious, why do you think so? I have both and would rate them equally.

For a few reasons, larger mic head is easier to use and more precise I find. Better machining than the Reddings I sold. No compressed charges with Redding. Just about to load up some of those Bergers you sold me.

I have the Redding Competition set for my 308, but have the Forster seater for my 6.5x47 and 223. I think the Forster is easier to work with due to larger micrometer and numbers being further apart.
