Reloading for m14

Looking for opinion, i have some 147gr sitting behind 43gr of varget and they were coming out of my 10TR at 2700fps. Would that be okay for m14? Or little too hot

To hot, look into m14 info , the gas system likes certain limits to work properly and not damage your op rod

M80 ballistic performance is 2730 fps with a 147 grain projectile. That velocity is fine but back off 10% and work back up, checking for pressure signs. Do not shoot bullets heavier than 180 grain with the stock gas plug.

If it's a Nork send Barney/Hungry/TacticalTeacher some fired brass....he will mic it for you and give you an idea of headspace.

My shorty likes 40gr of imr 3031 with 150-160 gr bullets

I like using 41.5 grains of H4895 with Hornady 150 FMJBT
