I have some CCI 250 LR Mag primers and would like to know if they would be safe to use in this style of rifle. Also what are the best choices of primers for this rifle.

Recommended primers are the CCI #34 Military primer.
Since the M14 rifles utilise a floating firing pin, using a hard primer is recommended.Using a "soft primer may result in primer ignition when the bolt closes due to firing pin inertia.
Federal Pimers are not recommended for M14s.
If you look carefully after you eject a live round, you will see a slight indent in the primer from the firing pin. This is common with rifles that have floating firing pins.
The CCI #34 Military primer was designed for with M14, M1 Garand in mind.
Yes I am aware of the CCI Milspec primers but unfortunatly there are none locally and will have to order some, and would like to know if these would be good until they arive.
Regular large rifle primers have worked just fine in my M-14 and M-1 for eons. Full length resizing only. There's no need for magnum primers. They won't hurt your rifle. They just burn hotter and for a wee bit longer.
