What weight bullet do folks find best in their P220? I am thinking of trying a lighter bullet (say 180 grains), unless you can suggest loads for heavier bullets (say 230 gr) that work for you.

I am loading for a Sig GSR 1911 my own cast bullets 230 gr. TC. I've only tested 2 loads so far with these results.

5 shots with 5.4 gr. Unique avg. vel. 852.2 fps.
5 shots with 5.2 gr. Unique avg. vel. 819.8 fps.

Hope this helps.

Should mention that the problem CV32 is having is that the pistol is shooting extremely low more than a foot at 20 yards, using 225 cast lead flat point bullets and unique powder. The same load in the 1911 is bang on from 7-20 yards.

A foot low at 20 yards? Might want to have the gun checked out.

Using 5.8 gr Vv N320 under 185gr JSWC gives 960 f/s through a 3 7/8" barrel. The powder meters very consistently and is super clean. The load makes IPSC major and cycles the 1911 with 20 + lb spring reliably. If you don't need the velocity, you can lighten the load but this is a fast powder and cycling may suffer with loads < 5.6 gr, even with a 5" barrel, unless you go to a lighter spring.
