reloading for the Mini 14

I was wondering about safe loads for the mini 14 ranch rifle as I have one in the stainless steel version 580 series. The barrel is a bit thicker than the older ones at .625 diameter but I assume the action is about the same. I am about to reload some remington brass with 25.5 grains of H4895 and the bullets are 60 grain Nosler ballistic tips. The Hodgdon load data says I can go 26 grains maximum with a 60 grain bullet. Just wondering if my load is safe in the Mini 14 is all.

You need to work up the load, not just pick one and hope. However, that load will be fine. It'll be compressed, but that's nothing to worry about.

I have shot some loads with 24.4 grains of H4895 with the 60 grain Nosler bullets and they worked well. I realize I am going up a full grain but I am wondering if the Mini 14 will have problems. I think the Mini 14 action is quite strong but.....
