Reloading for45acp advice needed

Decided to start reloading for my 1911 government model. Bought some components. Looking for a good starting point.
CamPro 45 200gr FCP TC (wanted round nose, grabbed wrong box, stuck with these)
Winchester primers
Accurate #5 powder (seems to need higher volume than others, figured easier not to double/over charge)
Wondering if anyone using this powder and how much
Will the TC bullets cause feeding issues?
Any info/advice would be appreciated
 
Those bullets will feed with no fuss. OAL matters a bit, but 230 cast TC's feed like hot dam out of my Colt. Kind of prefer 'em too. Used 'em for pins and bullseye. The pistol doesn't need to be set up for 'em as much as with a SWC either. "Set up' just means chamfering the feed ramp up the sides of the chamber. Lot of pistols come that way now.
I think my .41 AE uses Accurate #5. Long, sad, story. Haven't ever used anything but Bullseye for .45. Which powder you use depends on how accurate it is out of your pistol. Doesn't make much difference otherwise. Taper crimping only is important though.
 
Using accurate's website load data and a Berry's 200gr SWC it's about 7.7gr start and 8.5gr max.

Some 1911s love tc's some don't. I've only tried 500 through mine when I first started reloading and my Norinco fed most of them just fine, but some didn't feed.

Get a reloading reloading manual or 4 if you don't have any.
 
How do u measure OAL with the flat bullets, I'm assuming measurement would be different than measuring a round nose. Obviously I have a lot of researching to do before I start.
 
For general plinking rounds you just measure top to bottom.

For match rounds (pretty much rifle only) you measure at the ogive which is the shape or nose of the bullet. The tip of the bullets can vary to much for match rounds.

What pistol are you shooting them out of? My Norc 1911 (and I have read the same about other manufacturers) has settled on 230g Round nose. It will not feed XTP or most HP at all. I went with 5g of HP38 (win231).

As already said, just measure from top to bottom.
 
Is it a full size or shorter commander,..the reason I ask, is because I load a little lighter for the commander so it doesn't jump as much . I have better control when loaded down.
 
That bullet should work perfectly. I have a number of Norc 45s and they are split about 50-50 between a preferance to TC or SWC.

Load 7.5, 7.8 & 8.0 and see if gun shoots one better than the other.

Load to about 1.125"
