Working on de-priming my win .308 brass and a casing got stuck and I stripped off the rim so now I'm stuck with a piece of brass stuck in the de-primer and resizing die. Is there any way to get that brass out I've pulled the top off and tried knocking it out but didn't work. I have a lee press and lee dies. I can't do anymore work till I get that brass out or get the die replaced so please if you know how tell me as my reloading manual has no information about what to do.

A stuck case remover, [which you can make from readily available items] will remove that case. You need to make sure the decapping pin is somewhat out of the way, then drill out the tapdrill size for ¼"- 20 coarse thread tap [#7]. Then tap the hole with threads. Now take a short piece of pipe, or even a socket that will slip over the part of the case that is still sticking out of the die. Put a washer over the pipe/socket and insert a ¼" bolt through the washer and into the case. Tighten till the threads pull the stuck case out of the die.[you may have to add washers if you run out of threads on the bolt] Next time, lube that case better! Regards, Eagleye

Lee dies you should be able to loosen the 2 top nuts & drive the decapping rod down & the case will pop out.Better instuctions with the dies.DAN>>>

I tried that as this is my second stuck brass, but my first to strip the rim right off

With the rim gone, a standard stuck case remover will not work, you may be alble to find a Lag bolt with the correct diameter and hope its threads will bite into the brass of the case, but I think it is time to order a new die, and be a bit more judicious with the case lube

The stuck case instructions, per my rifle die set sheet:

You're screwed!!!! :runaway:

Just kidding. :p :D

Actually, its:
If you forget to lube a case, the rim will be pulled off and the case will remain stuck. If this happens-- loosen, but do not remove, the decapper clamp. Use a 3/16 drift punch and a large hammer to tap on the decapper rod and drive the stuck case free.

I've done this. It works great.

You'll likely find that the process will damage your decapping pin and decapping rod (so I've found with RCBS dies), so be prepared to buy some parts, if not a new die ... and more case lube.

Eagleye gave excellent directions for a method that rarely fails.
as he said, you need to use more lube. Are you using Lee lube?
It works very well for me. Make sure you have a uniform, light coating on the brass.
A bit inside the neck of the case, even if it's only every third or fourth case, will help immeasurably.
