Reloading, how do you keep it affordable?

Twenty five years ago I could half the factory price easliy, but today the componant prices have jumped so much you are far better off looking for sales or trying to do a bulk buy with some other shooters. I love doing it myself but it just doesn't pay anymore.

Hand cast 00 buck and 1 oz slugs are definatly worth reloading and fun to shoot cause I/you can tailor the load from nasty to, I think I will pound 30 or 40 more this afternoon.

naw but for real, reloading will cost you money. You will spend more, but you will shoot more. It's a hobby that costs money.
You will want a nicer rpess that you don't need, and a ton of nice stuff that you don't need, plus you will shoot 3x more...

i agree with most comments about shot-loading. I shoot mostly 20ga and have a 20ga loader, but even tho I load pretty much everything else, never set up the shot loader. For brass loads, all I need to do is browse the local ammo store for a cost reality check...

Screw affordability.
Empty the bank account, max out the credit card, mortgage the house, sell first born.
When you can't buy any more there is always that spare kidney that God gave you for times like these.
