So I reload in my garage because I only have a cellar and not a full basement (house was built in 1910). Am I smart by storing my powder and primers in my garage or would it be advisable to store in my house and just take out what I will be using?

I, like a lot of people I know or used to know, store everything in the house, where they are less likely to be accidently set off. There is no real risk factor in storing in the house just as long as you are smart about it !

Powder and primers are best kept at a constant temperature, and in a dry environment. If you can accomplish this in your garage it will work well.

If you have wide temperature fluctuations in your garage,
it is not the ideal place to store your powders.

Cool, stable temp is the best.

I have a specific place to store
powders, and the temp there does not vary 3ºC.
Cheers, Eagleye.

"...wide temperature fluctuations in..." And humidity variations. Either one will affect powder. Primers don't matter.
"...let me reload on her..." Kind of like to watch that. snicker. Mind you, her cutting table is likely too thin and it'd break. That'd be funny too. How fast can you run?

I have my reloading set up in the upstairs of my shed. I have an air conditioner upstairs and a dehumidifier down stairs. Still not as good as a proper temperature controlled house. Mind you with the new smart meters I turn everything off during peak "rip-off periods" so I guess my shed is probably the same as my house...

Here's something I read on a reloading forum . . Storing powder away from ammonia products and garden fertilizer is a good idea.. Apparently ammonia breaks down powder. .
