I'm looking to get into reloading for some less common firearms that I have purchased, namely in the calibers 7.62x38R ( nagant revolver ), 7.62x25 ( tt33 ), 8x56R (steyr mannlicher), 6.5x55 swede, and 7.5x55.

I've got a loaner manual, Speer #14, from a relative and it has load info for none of these.

Can anyone recommend any good manuals that have any / all of these calibers in em?

Lee 2nd, Lyman #49 and Lyman Cast Bullet 4th have 7.62 Tokarev data

Lee 2nd/Lyman #49 and all other manuals I have read have 6.5x55 Swedish Mauser data. Speer 14 has 2 sections for it depending on vintage of rifle.

Hodgdons Website has 7.5x55 Swiss data, along with most other common rounds

8x56R, 7.62x38R were not readily found, but a google search will turn up other forum results and I believe some members here load these and have posted about them. You might also check the other gun powder companies sites. The following loads are what are listed in my copy of "The Handloader's Manual of Cartridge Conversion" (copyright 1987)

7.62x38R ( nagant revolver) Labelled as a 7.62 Russian Nagant in the manual:
100 gr lead bullet - 3.8 gr Bullseye - 900 fps muzzle velocity.
There is a note saying this is a Gas Seal revolver and that the bullet is seated totally within the case, with a case length of 1.53"

7.62x25 ( tt33 ) Named as the 7.62 Tokarev:
86 gr Round Nose - 5.0 gr of Bullseye - 1390 fps muzzle velocity.

8x56R (steyr mannlicher) (hungarian mannlicher):
205 gr bullet - 45.0 gr of 3031 - 2300 fps muzzle velocity.

6.5x55 swede (swedish mauser):
140 gr Spire Point - 37.7 gr of IMR4895 - 2400 fps muzzle velocity.

7.5x55 Named as the 7.5 Swiss Army:
110 gr lead - 1.7 gr of Bullseye - 650 fps muzzle velocity.


Most of these loads are credited as coming from Barnes. Bear in mind that these are also 20+ yr old load recommendations, so I would recommend starting lower and working up as powders have improved over time.

The 8x56R is not a typo - the powder type is only listed as 3031 - NOT IMR3031 - I don't know if this 3031 an older powder made by someone else or just an omission of the IMR name in my book.

I don't have my reloading manuals handy, so I can't tell you if any of these are covered in them.

Just had a bit of a facepalm moment. The 6.5x55 that I am looking for is for a ljungman AG 42. However Most places mention it under the name 6.5x55 Mauser. Somehow I had always thought these were two different rounds.

From the first line on the wiki 6.5x55 page
"6.5×55mm or 6.5×55mm SE (C.I.P.) (also known as 6.5×55mm Krag, 6.5×55mm Swedish Mauser or 6,5×55mm Mauser) ..."
