• real nice aperture sights rifle functions fine

Nice, haven’t shot mine yet…

Don’t reload but i boxes of Hornady 325g, subsonic, 405g Buffalo and HMS (not sure grains) to try out when I get to it!

But of an odd question. Does the case rim end up sitting on the cannelure of those 405 gr Campro bullets? I bought some and found that in order to get the recommended COAL the cannelure is always left out of the rim otherwise the cartridge is too short.

CamPro 405gr seated to the cannelure as shown no issues in my 1895 SBL.

My CamPro 405gr .45-70 handload COAL 64 mm nominal.

What brass are you using?

Trim length for 45-70Gov 'Normal' brass is 2.095".
Trim length for 45-70Gov FTX brass is 2.040".

good one! I figure when the target sheet is totally covered with masking tape it's about time to change it out those still got a ways to go yet.
