I'm going to do some Loads for this rifle so I'm wondering if anyone has any experience doing the same and if they encountered any issues. I should mention I just bought my first kit and have zero experience, haven't set the kit up yet.

Use the medium powders like 3031, BLC2, H335, 748, 4895, RL15 or varget. use 150 to 175 gr bullets.

get an experienced reloader person to help you set up and get started making ammo. watch You Tube.

Come back here and ask questions.

Thanks guys, I've got 150gr bullets and Hodgdon Benchmark powder. I had an experienced guy from work help get me set up. He said I should look into getting a digital scale that measure grains, now I did some searching online and I want something no more than $40 since my wife will kill me if I spend any more on this new hobby of mine. I read a lot of reviews and for the most part they all sound somewhat inaccurate, if anyone knows of a decent scale in my price range please give me a heads up.

stick with a traditional balance beam scale, you don't want digital unless you are ready to spend hundreds. RCBS 505 balance beam is reliable and you have something that works without power, just in case ;)

This may sound like a stupid question but I'll ask anyway. Is there a different set of dies for 7.62x51 as apposed to 308 win. ?
I thought I read that theres a smaller base that is supposed to stopped my Norc from jamming ?
I full length resize but still have jams. Using 44 gnrs varget and Hornady150grn FMJ

.308 Win dies will load "7.62 NATO ammo fine using 7.62 or 308 brass. Small base dies are rarely needed and I wouldn't buy a set untill I needed them. I load all my Norinco M14 ammo with normal RCBS or Lee Full Length sizing dies.

Fully seating primers is very important with this type of rifle to prevent slam fires!

It is generally recommended to load between 147-173gr bullets for the M1 Garand or M14 using standard jacketed bullet loads.

A powder in the suitable burn rate range for the action of this type of semi auto gas rifle such as IMR 4895, H4895, AA 2495, BL C2, H335, Win 748, IMR 4064 (and there are others).

A good example would be the Sierra Matchking HPBT .308" 168gr with IMR 4895 or IMR 4064 powder.

I've just tried my new Norinco M305s/M14s yesterday with winchester super-x factory ammo yesterday and had a double/slam fire out of 40 rounds.
Is there any fix for that?
I also plan to reload once I get the brass, is it ok to use the regular CCI large rifle primers?

Thanks!

Mystic player has an great article on his website Mysticprecision link at the top of the page go to tech info then reloading. I used that info and have had great results I have used both Win and now fed 210m primer over 2000 rnds (a drop in the bucket compared to some) and have never had a slam fire as stated earlier make sure they are seated well below the base of the case. I started full length resizing but now I used a redding body die to size my cases just enough that they chamber easily.

When i first fired my M305 i used some Winchester Super-X 180gr. I had a couple pop the primers out so i discontinued using that ammo. I pulled the bullets and reloaded with a smaller grain bullet and less powder. My rifle really likes the 150gr Sierra Matchkings at 39.5gr IMR4895 and CCI LR primers. I've also tried 168gr Barnes TSX (40gr IMR 4895) and 150gr Hornady SST's (41.3gr IMR4895)with good results as well.

Did you totally strip down and clean the bolt? Mine had crap in it from the factory and the firing pin was sticky as a result. I cleaned it all out and now it is nice and loose. I've fired ~500 rounds through my Norc M305 with CCI primers with zero misfired or slam fires. Have also put about 100 Winchester rounds through it without issue. If you had a slam fire within 40rnds of Winchester ammo and the primers weren't protruding my guess would be to check the gun.

So long as you keep it cleaned and well oiled, regular primers seated properly aren't an issue. If you are doing more vigorous things with it or use it in such a way that it gets dirty you may want to use #34 NATO primers.

I would avoid Federal primers no matter what because they are so sensitive and their cups are so thin. Would greatly increase the chance of a slam fire.

Where can I find the CCI #34 primers in Canada?

Henry at Budget Shooter Supply in the sponsor links carries them I believe.
