Reloading question about brass shavings.

I was trimming and de burring some new factory brass in preparation to reload. I was watching the brass shaving's piling on the table and wondered about their effect on the pressure generated on a load if one neglected to clean out the shaving's that went into the case. Reason I asked while I was working in the mines I spent a bit of time on the blast crew and I know aluminum shavings were added to the mix to enhance the force of the blast. Would brass do the same thing with gun powder? Just one of those questions that pop up when you are doing a repetitive task and your mind starts wondering.

Nope. Brass shavings wont do squat.

Aluminum powder can add a lot of heat with an oxidizer aka thermite. Brass is pretty stable. Also soft enough to not do anything to your barrel.

After sizing, trimming and deburring I brush the inside of the case out and give it a tap on the bench. I wet tumble with stainless steel media and each case is brushed and inspected for stray media. When done spinning the brush and pushing the brush back and forth the only thing inside the case when I'm done is "air".

The volume of brass shavings left over from trimming and de-burring would be quite small compared to the internal volume of the case.
