Reloading range brass for .40 S&W

I have recently bought a Sig Sauer P226 Elite in .40 S&W. I want to start reloading for this, but don't know where to go with this as I have about a thousand peices of range brass, but have heard there can be a risk in reloading brass shot from a Glock due to the chamber spacing...?

Any thoughts on this are appreciated.

hey Blues, I have a standard P226 in .40. I have shot nothing but my own reloads through it for a couple years now - about a couple thousand rounds. I use only range brass that I have scrounged. I have loaded hard cast lead and jacketed bullets of all varieties and have had no issues. I have never heard of a safety risk with reloading brass shot from a glock - and to be honest I don't even understand 'shot from a Glock to to the chamber spacing". (not being smart, just honest). - if you want any advise feel free to pm me, give me 5 mins I'll tell you everything i know lol.

OH - don't use porojectiles with a truncated cone profile, they don't feed well into the battery. That is the only issue I have had, and it had nothing to do with the gun or the brass.
 
I guess due to the build of the Glock chamber the rear of the brass is not supported when firing. This can create a "bulge" at the base of the brass that standard carbide dies can not resize due to its location so low on the brass. Redding makes a carbide die for this, but it is sold out everwhere currently.
 
I used to reload for an STI in .40
I had a whack of once fired Winchester police brass and the odd case would have a bulge.
I used a Dillon case gauge and once all my loads were made up,I'd slip em in the case gauge.
If it wouldn,t fit the gauge it wouldn,t be shot in the gun.
Sure,it took a couple of minutes extra to do,but I shot a lot of rounds without a problem and found that
very few loaded rounds had a bulge.
 
Thank for all the great advice. 09outlander, the you tube video gave me some great insite. Lef T, I am thinking that I will follow your idea first as it is the cheapest for me. Thanks again everybody for taking the time to respond to my question.
