Reloading rossi ranch hand 45 colt

Just bought a new rossi and want to start developing some loads...anyone try yet and, if so, what loads have you tried?

For 45 Colt I am using a hard cast 230 grain round nose bullet ( same as 45ACP) with 6.7 grains of Unique,prior to casting my own I was using the Berry's copper plated bullets available from Budget Shooter Supply:

Thanks! Are you reloading for the rossi ranch hand? If so, are you using rifle or pistol data?

I re-load for pistol and prefer a mild load for a reproduction 1873 SAA I ran some factory ammo and my reloads through a chronograph and the factory was 920fps and my reloads were 764fps.

I don't know from personal experience, but I recently read this in another posting on CGN:

Specifically, read post #18 on that thread... seems the answer is 'yes'. I've read the same thing in other forums as well.

Might what to try Hornady 250 gr. XPT 14.5 gr. 2400 powder. In my S+W Model 25 6" barrel gave me 6 shots in one big ragged hole at 25 yds. Might work very well in your Rossi
