Let's say your wife/gf/SO gives you a Hornady LnL for Christmas. What else do you need besides powder, bullets, shell casing and primers to get up and running to load .40 S&W?
Get a scale to measure powder charges periodically. A caliper for measuring overall length. Get a primer pocket cleaner. You may want a tumbler for cleaning up the brass. I would also get some case lube in the spray type as sometimes it helps to give a little squirt to a case to keep the dies smooth.
Most importantly, get a good reloading book or two or three. I have the Lyman 48th edition or so and it seems to be a good reference for all the stages of reloading.
Get the LNL kit if you can as it has most of the additional equipment required. Might have to look around for it as its back ordered at most places. I have a RCBS kit that I bought used but having just bought a LNL AP set up I really like Hornady products and how easy it is to change calibers with the LNL bushings and inter changeable powder maesure inserts.
Gotta keep that lady as those are hard to come by!
