Reloading shotgun slugs, etc.

So, I'm shooting some "Walmart Value 100rd Pack" Winchester Heavy Game 2.75", 1 1/8oz, #2 rounds outa my shotgun at midnight, and I get NO flame, no fireball, no nothing out the end. I mean, damn, I want a show.

So, I'm getting the reloading equipment tommorow and I want to cook up some nice "fireball friendly" rounds.

So, do they use a flame/flash retardent in those cheap value rounds or what? Have any fireball friendly powder recommendations??

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I ended up going with 35.5 grains of Blue Dot and WOW, VERY nice fireball

My dad had good recipe but unfortunately you can’t get the powder anymore I believe it was with ALCAN 7 His nick name for it was orange blossom special. Apparently it gave a rather spectacular effect on a early morning duck marsh.
