Hi guys!

I was looking to buy a dillon xl 650 and ask my father and brother about getting one with me.. when i start looking at the supplies price... looks like its gonna be cheaper to buy factory ammo.. what the hell.. shouldnt it be cheaper to reload by myself?

Haven't I visit the good site?

Tell me where you use to shop online!

Thanks!

I'm not sure where or what you are looking it, but one thing to keep in mind when pricing components is that brass gets reused (rifle till it wears out, pistol usually till you lose it)

as always, I recommend Henry at budget shooter supplies, except for bullets I buy all my components from him and I save a good deal on my 9mm reloads vs factory.

save might not be the right word though... I spend the same amount as shooting factory I just get to shoot a lot more :D

The consumable components for reloading should be 1/2 the price of factory. The reloading equipment is a depreciating asset.

Anyone has stats on how many rounds a DL XL 650 is rated for? Guess at least 100k rounds.

What I am more interested in is how many rounds of 9mm (assuming you use range brass) you have to reload to make up the costs of DL 650 or 1050?? Anyone knows??

Been getting our Dillon parts and reloading supplies from Custom Reloading in Maple Ridge. We did buy one quick-change kit from International Shooting Supplies in Surrey because we were there and it saved a trip to Maple Ridge, and they matched Custom's price.

I did some math back when I got my 550B. You are looking at $100 saved for every 600-700 rounds of 9mm (or about 500-600 rounds of 45ACP). So if you went all out and spent $1000, you should recoup the cost after 6000-7000 rounds of just 9mm. (one thing that isn't in the equation is the value of your free time)
