Hello everyone, A buddy of mine showed me a beautiful rifle that was given to him by a relative . It is winchester model 1910, chambered in 401 calibre and in excellent shape with little wear to the blueing on the top edges of the reciever and perfect wood. He has asked me to reload for this old gun. It seems that 200gr 10mm bullets will work as they are the right diameter, but I have not found any load data for this calibre in any of my books.
Is it is possible to find Dies and brass for this obsolete calibre.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

It's a real shame this cartridge is such a pain to work with:(
Boxs of cartridges can be found at gun shows but be prepared, $60 & up is generally going rate for a box of 20. I saw a new set of dies once in a show but they were $105. & I just wouldn't pay it (to cheap:redface:).
I use an assortment of pieces from other die sets to make em  in limited quantitys.

I have some data if you get set-up to do some reloading slip me a PM & I'll pass on some info

I have data for a 200 grain jacketed and 212 and 240 grain cast. Shoot me an e-mail and I'll send it to you. It takes a .406" or .407" diameter bullet though. 10mm is too small.

Brass is available from:
http://www.buffaloarms.com/search.htm?step=2&viewfrom=1&numresults=10&searchterm=401wsl

Redding makes reloading dies

Brass can also be formed as follows:
- make from 38-55 WCF brass
- turn rim to .457" diameter & back chamfer
- trim to 1.5" in length
- chamfer
- expand case mouth to take .406" bullets
- fireform

35 Remington, .303 Savage or 9.3x72R brass can apparently also be used.

Sample load:
- 200 gr. bullet
- .406" diameter
- 31 gr. 4227
- 2100 fps
